【国旗下讲话】勤俭节约，珍惜劳动成果
尊敬的各位老师，亲爱的同学们：
Dear teachers and students:
大家好！今日我所演讲的主题是：《勤俭节约，珍惜劳动成果》。
Good morning!My topic today is: Be diligent , thrifty and cherish the fruits of your labor.
记得很小的时候，我们学的第一首唐诗就是：“锄禾日当午，汗滴禾下土。谁知盘中餐，粒粒皆辛苦。”小时候老师和父母就教育我们要节省每一粒米，农民伯伯太辛苦了，我们吃的每一口粮食都是用雨水和汗水浇灌的。
I Remember the first tang poetry we learned when we were very young is:”Farmers weeding at noon, Sweat down the field soon. Who knows food on a tray，Thanks to their toiling day? ”Teachers and parents taught us that we mustn’t waste a grain of rice. Farmers work so hard, every bite of food comes from their hard work.
节俭，这一中华民族的传统美德，在今天的社会里，更显得意义深长。节约每一滴水、每一度电、每一张纸都是我们应该做的。不要以为地球上的资源都是会再生的，其实，有些东西用完了就会像时间流走了一样，不会返回来。
Frugality, the traditional virtue of Chinese culture, is more meaningful in today’s society. Save every drop of water, every kilowatt-hour , every piece of paper is our responsibility.Don’t assume that the resources of our planet are renewable.The truth is , many things will be run out like time, never to come back.
你是否想过，如果地球缺了水，我们该怎么办，如果地球发生了大灾难，我们又该怎样生存下去？行动比语言更具有说服力，我们应该一起行动起来，为我们营造一个更好的生存环境。
Have you ever wondered what we would do if the earth ran out of water? How could we survive if catastrophes happen? Actions speak louder than words. We should act together to create a better living environment .
大家都应该知道我们第一任主席毛泽东吧！但是，你们可否知道在他的背后却有这样一段历史：他的一件睡衣穿了20年，补了73个补丁；一条毛巾被上的补丁达到了70多个；一双拖鞋穿了20多年。连伟大的领袖都可以做到，我们又怎么不能呢？
Everyone should know our first chairman MaoZedong! However, do you know there is a story in his life？——One of his pajamas lasted twenty years，73 patches on it; the number of patches on a towel reached more than 70;One pair of slippers was worn for more than 20 years.Even great leaders can do it, so why can’t we?
其实在生活中，许多事情是我们可以做的：用完的作业本，背面还可以当做草稿纸；淘米的水可以浇花，洗完衣服的水可以用来摆抹布；喝完的饮料瓶也可以做成各种各样的装饰品；有些不同颜料的瓶子可以套在灯管上当彩纸，既美观大方又节约资源。
Actually, there are many things we can do in daily life, such as : the other side of the used exercise book can be used as draft paper; The water for washing rice can be used to water flowers, and the water for washing clothes can be used for rags; Finished beverage bottles can also be made into a variety of decorations; Some bottles of different pigments can be set in the lamp tube as color paper, both beautiful and easy to save resources.
勤俭节约是我们中华民族的传统美德，也是我们每个人都必须遵循的原则。同学们，趁着我们还处于蓬勃旺盛的时期，为了地球能有更多的资源，让我们手拉手，从一点一滴的小事做起，从现在做起，杜绝铺张浪费，一起厉行节约吧！
Diligence and frugality are the traditional virtues of our Chinese nation but also principles that everyone must follow. Dear friends, we are in the prime of life now, for saving more resources, let us hand in hand, start from little by little, start from now, eliminate extravagance and waste, practice economy！
虽然我们现在的条件是好，不用再为吃不上饭而发愁，不用再为没有衣服穿而担忧。但是同学们，你们有没有想过，我们现在能有这么好的生活，能有这么好的一个读书环境，那都是靠我们的先辈们艰苦奋斗打拼下来的，靠他们的一点一滴勤俭节约积攒下来的。我们不能有了这么好的条件，就忘了先辈们的付出，就忘了要去勤俭节约，就忘了要去珍惜先辈们给我们所创造出来的条件。
Our living conditions are good now, and we no longer worry about lacking food. But dear friends, have you ever thought, we can have such good life, good education, it is by our ancestors’ hard working, by their every bit of thrift. Therefore, don’t forget their sacrifice, don’t forget to be frugal ，don’t forget to cherish the good life created by our ancestors.
“斯是陋室，惟吾德馨。”简陋的环境并不重要，清苦一点也没有关系，只要我们自己拥有一个高尚的人品，拥有有一个丰富的学识，就不会觉得自己有哪里是比别人寒酸的。
“A humble abode though this is, my virtues make it smell sweet.”It doesn’t matter if we live in difficult environments or have a hard life. As long as we have a noble character and rich knowledge, we will not feel that we are inferior to others.
所以同学们，即使我们有钱，我们也不用买多么昂贵和漂亮的衣服，即使我们有条件，也不必到处花钱造成过多的浪费。我们要学习我们的先辈们，养成勤俭节约的习惯，学习古人，培养自己高尚的品格。节约是美德，节约比创造更容易，节约从我做起，从身边做起。节约是一种美德，节约是一种智慧，节约更应该成为一种习惯和风气。建设节约型社会需要全社会的共同参与和共同行动，找回失去的节约意识，从节约一滴水，节约一度电，节约一张纸，节约一粒米开始，持之以恒，在建设节约型社会中，将节约这个“传家宝”进一步发扬光大！
So dear students, even if we are rich, we do not have to buy expensive and extravagant clothes, even if we have the conditions, even if we can afford it, we don’t have to waste too much money to cause too much waste. We should learn from our predecessors, develop the habit of thrift, learn from the ancients, and develop our own noble character. Thrift is a virtue. It is easier to save than to create. It starts with me, it starts from my side”. Thrift is a wisdom, Thrift should become a habit and an atmosphere. Setting up a conservation-oriented society needs the common participation and common action of the whole society. Finding the lost consciousness of saving starts from saving a drop of water, saving kilowatt hour, saving a piece of paper, saving a grain of rice.Perseverance in the construction of energy-saving society will save this heirloom and carry it further forward！
