Good morning, dear teachers and students! The topic of our speech under the national flag today is: Learn to choose and to give up.
In life, we are always hovering between gain and loss. At this time, we have two different paths to choose from: choose or give up. Sometimes it’s really hard to give up what we really want, but when you choose to give up Then you will find that giving up is also a kind of wisdom.Giving up is an open-minded attitude towards life. Appropriate giving up is better than everlasting persistence. Giving up does not mean losing, because only by giving up can there be another kind of gain.
Everyone has limited energy, and it is impossible to do everything well, you must devote limited time to the most important things. As for students, we should give up bad habits, and usher in a new self every day, give up unrestrained gameplay and focus on learning. Give up gossips and focus on yourself. Giving up on friends who have a bad influence on you, giving up laziness, giving up irresponsibility, for this is good for life, this kind of giving up is a selective giving up.
Time is finite, precious, and ruthless. It is always passing by us unconsciously. Time is squeezed out little by little, not to say that if there is, there will be, if there is not, there will be none. Only by knowing how to use every minute and every second, knowing how to give up the secondary, can life be successful.
Only when I grow up will I find that many goals can not be achieved by the rhetoric of childhood, which is also the reason why most people are unhappy. Therefore, to truly be willing, one must know how to choose and at the same time learn to give up. When people learn to choose, they learn to give up. Life is actually a process of struggling with constant choice and giving up. The choice is very important. Our current life is almost the result of our previous choice.
Mencius said: “Fish, is what I want; bear’s paw, is also what I want. But one couldn’t have both. The one who takes the bear’s paw must give up the fish. Life is what I want; righteousness is also what I want. The two cannot be achieved at the same time, and the one must sacrifice his life for his righteous beliefs.” Life is the same. Only if you choose to give up properly, you will gain. But more importantly, we must learn to judge the priority of choices. The cheetah gave up its power and gained the ultimate speed so that it could survive on the grassland. So should we students study and live in our life, we must also focus on important things.
We must understand giving up, the most important thing is to have a clear purpose, understand why are we giving up, don’t give up one thing blindly, think about the consequences after giving up. This is our speech under the flag today, thank you, everyone!
