端午节的由来
DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
大家早上好！有一首儿歌说得好:“五月五，是端阳。插艾叶，戴香囊，吃粽子，撒白糖，龙船下水喜洋洋。”这首儿歌讲的就是我国一年一度的传统节日——端午节。今天我在国旗下演讲的主题是《端午节的由来》。

Eat rice dumpling,sprinkle sugar. Play dragon boat in the river.” The children’s song is about China’s annual traditional festival–Dragon Boat Festival. Today, the topic of my speech under the national flag is the Origin of the Dragon Boat Festival.
端午节是每年农历的五月初五，又称端阳节，是夏季的一个驱除瘟疫的节日。端午节是我国汉族人民的传统节日。关于端午节的起源，相关的传奇可多了，其中，纪念屈原的说法流传得最广。
The annual Dragon Boat Festival is coming again. The Dragon Boat Festival is on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar, also known as Duanyang Festival. It is a summer festival to drive away the plague. The Dragon Boat Festival is traditional festival of Han People in China.There are many legends about the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival. Among them, to commemorate Qu Yuan’s view spread most widely.
屈原是我国古代伟大的爱国诗人，诞生在2000多年前战国时期的楚国。他为人正直，学识渊博，很有才能，在楚国担负了重要职务。由于他主张坚决对抗秦国侵略，而受到打击、排斥，还被楚王赶出了朝廷。屈原悲愤极了，在流放途中写下了很多充斥着爱国精神的诗篇，最出名的就是《离骚》。后来，秦国军队攻占了楚国都城，楚国失地千里，尸横遍野。屈原心如刀割，他不情愿看到国破家亡的惨景，就在农历五月五日这一天，怀抱石块，跳进了汨罗江。当年他62岁。
Qu Yuan was a great patriotic poet in ancient China. He was born more than 2,000 years ago in the State of Chu during the Warring State Period. He was upright, knowledgeable and talented. He held important posts in the State of Chu. Because of his determination to resist Qin’s aggression,he was beaten, ostracized and expelled from the court by the king of Chu. Qu Yuan was so indignant. During his exile, he wrote many patriotic poems, the most famous one is LI SAO. Later, the Troops of Qin captured the capital of Chu. Chu lost thousands of mils of land and was covered with corpses. Qu Yuan felt as if a knife were piecing his heart. He was reluctant to see the tragic scene of national destruction, so he embraced stones and jumped into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. He was 62 years old in that time.
百姓们爱戴屈原，当听到他自杀的消息后，纷纷划着船奔向江中，去打捞屈原的遗体，但没能找到。他们怕江中的鱼虾会咬食屈原的遗体，又纷纷把江米装进竹筒，扔到水里，想用江米喂食鱼虾来爱护屈原的遗体。至今，每年的五月初五，人们都会自发地来到江边，悼念屈原，还要划着船冲进汹涌的波涛，象征人们争相打捞屈原的遗体，以此来寄予对屈原的哀思。久而久之，我国南方就形成了端午节吃粽子、赛龙舟的习俗。因此，端午节又成了纪念屈原的节日。
The people loved Qu Yuan. When they heard the news of his suicide, they rowed boats and rushed to the river to salvage Qu Yuan’s body, but failed to find it. They are afraid that the fish and shrimp in the river will bite Qu Yuan’s body, and put rice into bamboo tube, throw into the water, want to use rice to feed fish and shrimp to care for Qu Yuan’s body. So far, every year on the fifth day of May, people will spontaneously come to the river, mourning Qu Yuan, but also rowed into the rough waves, symbolizing people scrambling salvage Qu Yuan’s body, in order to send to Qu Yuan’s grief. Over time, the custom of eating zongzi and racing dragon boats has formed in the south of China. Therefore, the Dragon Boat Festival has become a festival to commemorate Qu Yuan.
同学们，屈原由于酷爱祖国、关怀百姓疾苦而受到人们的爱戴。当我们有滋有味地吃粽子、观看赛龙舟时，不要忘却2000多年前那位爱国大诗人——屈原。
Students, Qu Yuan is loved by people because of his love for the motherland and his concern for the sufferings of the people. When we taste to eat rice, watch dragon boat racing, do not forget the great patriotic poet more than 2000 years ago——Qu Yuan.
